NanoInk Appoints Former Senator Daniel Coats to Its Board of Directors
SKOKIE, IL--(Marketwire - May 2, 2008) - NanoInk, Inc., an emerging growth technology company specializing in nanometer-scale manufacturing and applications development for the life science and semiconductor industries, announced today the appointment of former U.S. Sen. Daniel Coats to its Board of Directors. "Senator Coats brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience to NanoInk after serving 18 years in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives," said Jim Hussey, CEO, NanoInk. "We are extremely pleased to have him join our Board of Directors." Sen. Coats is currently senior counsel at King and Spalding LLP, working in the Government Advocacy and Public Policy practice group. He joined King and Spalding after serving as U.S. Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany from August 2001 to February 2005. Sen. Coats represented Indiana in the U.S. Senate from 1989 to 1999, and in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1981 to 1988. While in Congress, he was a member of several high-profile committees, including the Senate Armed Services Committee, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, and the House Energy and Commerce Committee. In the Senate, he was a member of the leadership, serving as midwest regional whip and focused on national security, health care, education and human resources issues. Before his election to Congress, he served as Indiana Director for then Congressmen Dan Quayle from 1977 to 1980. Prior to his involvement in politics, he was assistant vice president of a Fort Wayne, Ind. life insurance company. Sen. Coats has also served as president of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, as co-chair of the Center for Jewish and Christian Values, and as a member of several other boards, civic and volunteer organizations. He is a graduate of Wheaton College and holds a J.D. degree from the Indiana University School of Law. "My experience in the Senate focusing on health care and national security will enable me to provide guidance to the NanoInk management team on how to best apply its technology to safeguard the nation's supply chain," said Senator Coats.
